How our Lungs Work
In school today we learned how our lungs work. We cut the base of a plastic bottle and attached a balloon to the top. We cut a second balloon and sellotaped it around the base, ensuring it was air-tight. This balloon represents the diaphragm and when it is pulled down air enters the top balloon (the lungs). When the diaphragm is pushed up air is expelled from the lungs.
