During Science Week, we became cancer researchers for a day. We watched a very interesting video of a cancer researcher telling about her work and what she does. It really was fascinating. We then did some experiments ourselves.
We examined stained onion skins under a microscope to see the cells up close.
We used washing up liquid and alcohol hand gel to isolate DNA from fruit so we could see what it looks like.
Finally, we examined the effect of exercise on our heart rates by taking our pulse before and after doing vigorous activity and compared the two. We found out that some of us are very fit indeed!
